This is kind of lengthy, so I encourage you to use Command + F or a similar shortcut!

    General notes:

    • News will be tagged by location, usually with one or more of the following: city, state/province, country
    • Ask will be tagged with the asker’s username (alongside the usual #legal, #trans woman, etc tags). If the user name has hypens in it, I will remove them from the tag so it can be tracked.
    • Asks reblogged from other people are sometimes tagged with other people’s wisdom alongside the regular tags.

    Labels/Identities

    • Trans man (A man who was not assigned male at birth)
    • Trans woman (A woman who was not assigned female at birth)
    • Trans masculine - older posts tagged Transmasculine (trans people who were assigned female and are masculine but may not consider themselves to be men)
    • Trans feminine - older posts tagged Transfeminine (trans people who were assigned male and are feminine but may not consider themselves to be women)
    • Genderfluid (feels like different genders at different times; gender changes)
    • Gender Nonconforming (can be trans, but not necessarily. A man who likes traditionally feminine things like cooking or sewing is still gender nonconforming whether or not he is also a trans man.)
    • Genderqueer (umbrella term for trans/gender nonconforming people)
    • Neutrois/Agender (no strong gender leanings)
    • Nonbinary (neither woman nor man. May be a bit of both or neither.)
    • Stellarian, Solarian, Lunarian (New terms, so not much tagged yet. They replace terms like male-aligned, etc, that were quickly abused by transphobes. Respectively, they mean a nonbinary person who feels apart from the gender binary altogether, connected to masculinity, and connected to femininity.)
    • MTF (AMAB transfeminine, often a trans woman)
    • FTM (AFAB transmasculine, often a trans man)
    • FTX and MTX (someone who is transitioning but not into another binary gender. Neutrois, nonbinary, etc. Also called FTN and MTN. Terms may not have much tagged because they’re uncommonly used)
    • AMAB (assigned male at birth; same as DMAB or MAAB)
    • AFAB (assigned female at birth; same as DFAB or FAAB)
    • Intersex (physically neither male nor female but still usually assigned one or the other at birth)
    • Questioning (those unsure of their identities)

    Transitioning

    • Dysphoria  - a disconnection with or intense dislike of one’s physical sex characteristics (tagged posts describe how to alleviate it)
    • Chosen Name
    • Coming Out
    • Feminizing
    • Masculinizing
    • HRT - Estrogen, Testosterone
    • Surgery - Top Surgery, Bottom Surgery (specific types such as metidoplasty, etc, will also be tagged as such, but there may not be results for every surgery)
    • Binding (flattening one’s chest using a binder)
    • Breast Forms (used to create boobs)
    • Makeup (can be feminizing or masculinizing)
    • Packing (creating a bulge to look like a penis/testicles through clothes using a packer)
    • STP (a device that allows someone without a penis to stand to pee easier)
    • Tucking (creating a smooth crotch area)
